Plenary Session: Saturday, Aug. 8, 3:00–3:50 p.m., Room 713B Dr. Sherrod’s talk will address how jurors use “stored scripts” to understand the evidence in a trial and why opening statements should be organized around narratives with a series of themes that correspond to jurors’ stored scripts for information processing. He will explain how jurors “reconstruct” instead of “recall” evidence during deliberations, when general demographics and when case-specifi c attitudes are more associated with verdicts, and what type of voir direquestions predict verdicts most reliably. Dr. Brown will describe her experience as an on-site psychologist for Survivor: The Australian Outback. She will share the ways in which her education and training prepared, and did not prepare, her for this role. Dr. Murphy will discuss career support lessons he learned in changing his role from clinician to sports psychologist. Chair: Shamin Ladhani, PsyD, Wheaton Franciscan
