Guide to the Fields in Our Database Records PsycINFO records are divided into fields, which makes searching the database easier. What goes into each field varies depending on the type of literature we're documenting. This guide lists all the fields, plus an explanation of what each field does. The * indicates a field that is display only (not searchable) in the PsycNET vendor system. Check the online help for your search system or the search guide in our Help and Training Center to find out how to use these fields and their values when searching the database. We also have a printer-friendly version of this field guide in PDF format (24K), which requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't already have a copy of the Reader, you can download it for free from Adobe's web site. Updated July 2009
