Special Interest Groups
The Undergraduate Student Interest Group was
started in order to provide a way for undergraduates to share a
multiplicity and diversity of thought, community, friendship and
outreach. The aim of the group is to lessen apathy and malaise students
sometimes feel when they are too often seen, and see themselves as
nothing more than objects being measured, compared and produced in, and
for the university. Therefore, the Student Interest Group encourages
three primary ways of involvement: a passionate intellectual climate
without de-gradation (the other side of grading), a chance for group
cohesion through joyous and meaningful involvement in various projects,
lectures and celebrations; and simple, grassroots style University and
local community outreach. The interest group is currently in the
process of producing an undergraduate journal in humanistic psychology,
for which we welcome submissions. If your school does not already have
a chapter of Division 32's Undergraduate Student Interest Group in
Humanistic Psychology, please contact us so we can help you get one

The
Constructivist Psychology Interest Area provides a forum for
the exploration and dissemination of research in the area of
constructivist psychology. Membership is free and open to all members
and affiliates of the American Psychological Association, but members
of the Constructivist Psychology Interest Group are also encouraged to
join Division 32. The Constructivist Psychology Interest Group is also
affiliated with the Constructivist Psychology Network. For more

The Human Science Interest Area does not hold formal meetings, but exists as a way of
reminding ourselves that we as a division should continue to keep
ourselves mindful of those areas to which we can make an important
contribution. This interest area is concerned with lobbying for human
science interests within APA at large and promotes convention
programming as well as publication of human science research. For more

The Positive Psychology
Interest Area of Division 32 is focused on building bridges and
promoting dialogue among humanistic and positive psychologists with
common interests in the study of human flourishing. This interest area
is engaged in the promotion of research, publications and programming
that focuses on the thematic, methodological, epistemological and
ethical foundations of the study of the "good life." All APA members
are welcome to join the group, but members are strongly encouraged to
join Division 32. For more

The Psychotherapy
Interest Area of Division 32 sponsors initiatives, such as the
development of the Recommended Principles and Practices
For The Provision of Humanistic Psychosocial Services: Alternative To
Mandated Practice and Treatment Guidelines and an
initiative to study experiential training in psychotherapy. If you are

The Theory and
Philosophy Interest Area operates to promote the development of
sophisticated, systematic, humanistic thought with respect to human
nature and the human condition. This interest group aspires to initiate
creative venues for professional dialog and collaboration on the
development of humanistic theories and related implications for
psychological research and practice. The interest group also aspires to
engage interested members of other divisions in collaborative projects
and dialog. Membership is free and open to all members and affiliates
of the American Psychological Association, but members of the Theory
and Philosophy Interest Group are also encouraged to join Division 32.

The
Transpersonal Psychology Interest Area exists to promote
scientific study and professional practice in transpersonal psychology
and to foster professional dialogue among psychologists and related
professionals who are interested in transpersonal psychology. It is
intended that this interest group will sponsor presentations and
workshops, including for CE credit, encourage research and
publications, and engage in international efforts with similar
transpersonal psychology groups, such as that of the British
Psychological Society's Transpersonal Psychology Science. At this
point, membership is free and open to all members and affiliates of the
American Psychological Association, but members of the Transpersonal
Psychology Interest Group are also encouraged to join Division 32. For
