A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Debra Robinson, Ph.D.

Dear Society of Consulting Psychology Members:

Welcome to the Fall 2005 Issue of The Consulting Psychologist! I am proud to serve as president of an organization committed to increasing individual and organizational effectiveness. We have opportunities for members to stay connected throughout the year and three special initiatives - Leadership, Healthy Workplace, and Diversity.

Upcoming Distance Learning programs includeThe APA Ethics Code and Consulting Psychology on December 2. Our Training & Development co-chairs, Natalie Monarch and Scott Serviss, are seeking Distance Learning proposals for spring 2006 series.

Our Mid-Winter Conference, The Psychology of Leadership: The Consulting Psychology Edge, will be February 2-5, 2006 in San Diego, California. Conference Co-chairs David Brewer and Sheila Kampa have an impressive line-up of speakers and events planned.

The SCP Program Theme for the APA Convention in August, 2006 will be Twenty-first Century Leadership: Building Frameworks and Understanding. Program Co-Chairs Amy Owen and Tracy Cocivera are accepting program submissions until December 2, 2005.

Our Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) continue to grow. Join the SIGs that meet your needs and interests, or start a new one. We are also seeking members for SCP committees.

Our Editor, Jennifer Boyce, has prepared an outstanding Newsletter that focuses on many issues related to consulting. We appreciate all of the work Jennifer and webmaster, Steve Kincaid put into our fall and spring newsletters.

APA Elections are coming up in early November. It is very important for us to keep our second APA Council seat so I urge you to give your Ten Votes to Division 13. A member of Division 13 is on the ballot for President this year. Remember to vote.

The Society of Consulting Psychology strives to be a vibrant professional learning community for members. I encourage your involvement throughout the year. Active, engaged members create outstanding organizations!

Sincerely,

Debra Robinson, Ph.D.
President, Society of Consulting Psychology
