Dear Society of
Consulting Psychology Members:
Welcome to the Spring 2006 Issue of the Consulting Psychologist! It has been a busy and exciting year for the Society of Consulting Psychology. We had an outstanding Mid-Winter Conference on The Psychology of Leadership in San Diego, California in February. Conference Co-Chairs, David Brewer and Sheila Kampa, had an impressive line-up of speakers and events.
We have some great Distance Learning programs this spring thanks to our Training & Development Co-Chairs, Natalie Monarch and Scott Serviss. Programs include enhancing performance using cognitive behavioral theory in executive coaching, jump starting your coaching and consulting business, and corporate psychologists helping executive leadership teams. More information is available on the SCP website.
SCP Program Theme for the APA Convention August 10 - 13, 2006 is Twenty-first Century Leadership: Building Frameworks and Understanding. Program Co-Chairs Amy Owen and Tracy Cocivera have designed an outstanding conference program and Sybil Curry is creating a hospitality suite series to complement our program sessions. Conference registration and hotel reservations can be made at the APA website and our program schedule will be posted on the SCP website. We hope to see you in New Orleans!
Our Editor, Jennifer Boyce, has prepared an outstanding newsletter that focuses on consulting issues and trends. The articles range from helping organizations tackle diversity issues to getting experience in the consulting world to branding oneself as a consulting psychologist (future issue). We appreciate all of the work Jennifer and webmaster, Steve Kincaid put into our fall and spring newsletters.
I am proud to serve as president of an organization committed to increasing individual and organizational effectiveness. We encourage you to get involved in SCP activities. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Debra Robinson, Ph.D.
President, Society of Consulting Psychology
