Division
18 - Psychologists in Public Service, is committed
to improving the psychological condition of
persons served by public sector agencies. Our
diverse membership includes psychologists in
academic settings, community mental health centers,
state hospitals, correctional facilities, police
and public safety agencies, the Department of
Veterans Affairs, the Indian Health Service,
and other publicly-funded organizations committed
to public welfare. Particular interests
include advocacy, access to service, education
and training, public policy formulation, research
and program evaluation, and prevention efforts.
Recent efforts include addressing issues related
to suicide and violence prevention,homelessness,
serious mental illness, trauma, prescriptive
authority, and hospital practice.
