The Division 18-Alliant International University RxP Training Project

Subject: Re: [PUBSERV] [DIV18CRIMJUSTICE] FW: Public Service RxP Fund

The Division 18-Alliant International University RxP Training Project is one of the most important initiatives ever undertaken by any division of APA.  With your help, this could transform the organizational culture of public service psychology and greatly contribute to psychology's professed mission to serve underserved patients: veterans, Native Americans, prison inmates (so many of whom have serious mental illnesses), and others in state hospitals and community mental health centers.  It is a chance for Division 18 members to have a real-world impact, to demonstrate their commitment to these patients, or, alternatively, to do nothing and risk losing the $25,000 Tauber grant, which in itself would pay the tuition for two more of our applicants.

Accordingly, I ask all Division 18 members to contribute at least $100.00 to this fund, and I ask all former Division 18 presidents to show real leadership and to contribute at least $250.00 by December 31st.  Let's show APA that Division 18 matters!

We need $12,000 by December 31st to get the Tauber grant. You can send your tax-deductible contributions to:

Public Service Psychology RxP Fund

Alliant International University

One Beach Street

San Francisco, CA 94133

Thanks.  Please send a check today.

The Diversity Task Force is working to start a Mentoring Program. This will allow students and early career psychologists to gain the wisdom and guidance from a “seasoned” psychologist with similar clinical and/or research interests. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or a mentee, please contact Monica Roy at mroy@nova.edu. Thank you for your interest!
