Carolyn Wood Sherif Award

The Carolyn Wood Sherif Award Committee invites nominations for the16th annual Carolyn Wood Sherif Award. This award is based on contributions to the field of the psychology of women as a scholar, teacher, mentor, and leader. Thus, selection requires evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring, research and scholarship, and professional leadership in the area of the psychology of women.

The recipient of the next award will receive a cash prize and will be invited to deliver the Sherif Memorial Lecture at the following APA convention. The winner also chairs the subsequent year's award committee.

To nominate an individual for the award, please send 1 hard copy by snail mail and an electronic version (either as an email attachment or a Windows formatted disk or CD in a .doc or .rft format) of the following materials:

  • a nomination letter (including the nominee's phone number and email address)
  • the nominee's curriculum vitae
  • copies of two or three selected publications
  • 3 additional letters in support of the nominee (only 3 letters are considered)

Also, if you want to nominate someone nominated (but not chosen) earlier, you should treat this like a new nomination.
