I am quite pleased to announce a milestone in our
division’s development. Some of Division 51 most talented and well
respected members will be sharing their work at the first National
Psychotherapy with Men Conference to be held at California State
University Northridge (20 miles north of Los Angeles). We have so
much talent in our division; it is time we bring our vast clinical
and research resources to mental health practitioners interested in
increasing their skills in working with men. The conference will
include video presentations of clinical work with men, special
keynote addresses by Dr. Aaron Rochlen and Dr. A.J. Franklin, and
interactive panel presentations. The conference is oriented for
both student and professional practitioners of all mental health
disciplines. WE have co-sponsorship from Divisions 17 and 45,
CODAPAR, University of La Verne Psychology Department, Phillips
Graduate Institute, CSU- Fullerton Department of Counseling, Antioch
University and CSPP at Alliant International University.
Please pass the word about the conference to others
in your professional circles. You can download flyers about the
conference to send out or if you would like some copies to distribute at
a conference or professional gathering please contact me at
mark.stevens@csun.edu. More information about the conference is
posted on our division’s website at:
http://www.apa.org/divisions/div51/
Hope to see you at the conference.
Sincerely,
Mark
