2012 APA/Clark University Workshop for High School Teachers
The eighth annual APA/Clark University Workshop for High School Teachers was held July 16–18, 2012, at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. Twenty-five high school teachers from around the country participated in the workshop. Presenters included TOPSS members Michael Sullivan of Hopkinton High School (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Debra Park of Rutgers University and West Deptford High School (West Deptford, N.J.), Clark University psychology professors, and a professor from College of the Holy Cross. Randolph Smith, PhD, Lamar University, delivered the keynote address, “Though This be Madness, Yet There is Method In't: The Importance of Research Methods in Introductory Psychology.”
This workshop has been made possible through generous gifts from Lee Gurel, PhD, a Clark University alumnus, APA member, and longtime donor to both Clark and APF.
Information on the 2013 APA/Clark University Workshop will be posted to the TOPSS website by late 2012, and the application deadline will be April 15, 2013. Interested teachers can visit the TOPSS website.
