Planning for a national survey on undergraduate study in psychology

Survey will generate database to help evaluate and improve undergraduate study

A Board of Educational Affairs (BEA) working group is developing a survey that will be used to create a comprehensive APA database on undergraduate study in psychology similar to the database on graduate study in psychology. Over time, this database will provide the undergraduate community with a resource for:

  • Obtaining a comprehensive portrait of undergraduate study in psychology.

  • Enabling comparative evaluations of undergraduate psychology programs.

  • Monitoring longitudinal changes in undergraduate education in psychology.

  • Gathering information for program review and evaluation.

At this time, Robin Hailstorks, PhD, associate executive director and director, Precollege and Undergraduate Education, and members of the BEA are continuing efforts to plan for the survey and database on undergraduate study in psychology.
