We are pleased to bring you the last 2008 edition of CoA Communications! This online newsletter is intended to inform you of actions taken during the Fall Commission on Accreditation (CoA) meeting and to provide other important information.
Introduction
The CoA reviewed 54 programs during its October 16-19, 2008 meeting. As of December 31, 2008 there are 891 accredited programs, including 374 doctoral programs, 469 internship programs, and 48 postdoctoral programs.
The CoA approved the Annual Reaffirmation of Accredited Programs by receipt and review of annual reports, in accordance with Section 2.1 of the Accreditation Operating Procedures. Unless your program has been otherwise informed, this notice serves as a reaffirmation of accreditation status.

The CoA said goodbye to 5 members who will end their service at the close of 2008: Martin Heesacker, PhD, David McIntosh, PhD, Kathie Nichols, PhD, Norma Simon, EdD, and Eric VandeVoorde. These members have devoted a good deal of time to serving accreditation and education in psychology, and they have done so with diligence, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm. The CoA and Office also thank Dr. Jeffrey Baker for his dedicated service as Chair for 2008.
