We are pleased to bring you the Summer 2008 edition of CoA Communications! This online newsletter is intended to inform you of actions taken during the Summer Commission on Accreditation (CoA) meeting and to provide other important information.

Introduction

The CoA reviewed 49 programs during its July 17-20, 2008 meeting. As of September 1, 2008 there are 893 accredited programs, including 376 doctoral programs, 467 internship programs, and 50 postdoctoral programs.

Congratulations to the Following Newly Accredited Programs!

•   Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial
    VAMC—Bedford, MA (Post-Doc,
    Clinical Neuropsychology)

The official listing of all accredited programs is available in the December edition of the American Psychologist. An electronic list is also available (doctoral, intern/postdoc), but that listing is for informational purposes only and should not be used for official credential review.

Save the Date!

The 2009 Accreditation Assembly will be held in May 2009. The CoA is looking at the options available for either May 15-16 or May 29-30. The final dates, location, and programming will be made available as soon as possible.

Annual Accreditation Fees

Invoices for the 2008-2009 annual accreditation fees have been mailed to all currently accredited programs. Please contact the Accreditation Office if your program has not received an invoice. These fees are due no later than December 30, 2008.

2009 Program Reviews Scheduled

Programs scheduled for site visits in 2009 are posted on the accreditation website.  Self-study instructions for all programs being site visited during 2009 are also available.  New applicants for initial accreditation will be posted as they arrive.  The CoA accepts third-party testimony from students, faculty, and consumers on all accredited and applicant programs in conjunction with the review process.  For details on providing third-party testimony, refer to section 7 of the Accreditation Operating Procedures.
