Accreditation Assembly Update
The 2009 Accreditation Assembly will be held May 29-30, 2009 in San Diego, CA. We are looking forward to seeing many accreditation constituents there for what should be an excellent program. We plan to post copies and summaries of presentations (as available) on our website for those who are unable to attend.
The CoA hopes the Accreditation Assembly will offer constituents the opportunity to provide input into the current Guidelines and Principles.
Annual Report Online Open
The Annual Report Online is open from April 15 until September 15, 2009. All accredited programs must complete this report. Contact
Fatma Seyfi, Accreditation Research Assistant with questions on data entry.
Programs should also review their last decision letter and most recent accreditation correspondence for any issues to which they are required to provide narrative responses. Contact our office with questions on narrative responses.
2009 and 2010 Program Reviews

Reminder to Doctoral Programs
All accredited doctoral programs should review IR C-20 and ensure that the required information on outcomes (including licensure rates) is available to all current and prospective students. As it reviews doctoral programs, the CoA is reviewing the accuracy of those data.
Public Comment
At the April meeting, the CoA reviewed the comments received on proposed Implementing Regulations (IR’s) meant to clarify specific portions of the Guidelines and Principles for Accreditation (G&P). Two of the proposed IR’s were related to each of the two provisions of Domain D: Cultural and Individual Diversity. The third IR was an attempt to create a broader discussion of the use the term “empirically supported procedures” in the G&P.
In considering the comments received, the CoA will be revising the IR’s for Domain D based upon the feedback provided by the public on both of those items. Also, in response to the public comment, the CoA will begin drafting an Implementing Regulation that is hoped will clarify the intent of “Footnote 4” in the G&P.
For the item on empirically supported procedures, the CoA will be looking into different language for an IR clarifying this requirement at the doctoral, internship, and postdoctoral residency levels.
