Introduction

Welcome to the first edition of CoA Communications for 2005!  This online newsletter is intended to inform you of actions taken during the latest Committee on Accreditation (CoA) meeting and other important issues. The newsletter is disseminated electronically to accreditation constituent groups, programs, students, and other interested audiences.  We hope that you find this newsletter informative, and encourage you to contact the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation with any questions or concerns at apaaccred, or (202) 336-5979. Introduction

At its October 2004 meeting, the Committee reviewed 51 programs. As of November 24, 2004 there are 869 accredited programs, including 369 doctoral programs, 467 internship programs, and 33 postdoctoral programs.
 

We are pleased to congratulate the following newly accredited programs:

Doctoral Programs
• University of California – Riverside (School)

Internships
• Dorothea Dix Hospital
• Tennessee Internship Consortium in Psychology
• Wasatch Mental Health

The official listing of all accredited doctoral programs is available in the December edition of the American Psychologist. An electronic list is also available (doctoral, intern), but that listing is for informational purposes only and should not be used for official credential review.

Annual Affirmation

During the fall meeting, the Committee approved the Annual Reaffirmation of Accredited Programs by receipt and review of annual reports, in accordance with Section 2.1 of the Accreditation Operating Procedures.
