Program Review Consultants
The CoA will be conducting a pilot project from July 1, 2006 through
December 1, 2007 that will employ non-CoA member readers in a supporting
role in the CoA’s review of programs. The purpose of the pilot project
will be to evaluate the utility and effectiveness of utilizing Program
Review Consultants (PRCs) in the review process. PRCs will receive training
in program review, including conflict of interest principles, prior to
reviewing any program materials as part of the pilot project. Once trained,
they will review program materials and be prepared to discuss those materials
by providing the panel with a detailed analysis of strengths and weaknesses
of assigned programs. As always, each program will be reviewed by at least
two readers, one of whom will be a CoA member. The PRCs will not make
any recommendations regarding accreditation. The CoA accepted nominations
for PRCs through May 5, and those individuals selected will be listed
on the accreditation website.
