Accreditation Assembly
The CoA Assembly subcommittee reviewed the results of the survey conducted this spring on attendance at the first Accreditation Assembly. Based on the information collected, the CoA developed a tentative agenda and scheduled the assembly to take place over one and a half days sometime between January 11 and 13, 2007. Planned topics include defining doctoral level education, broad and general training, and cultural and individual diversity in psychology. The CoA plans to provide details on the specific dates, location, costs, and programming this fall.
Public Comment
The CoA is in the process of drafting an Implementing Regulation related to academic residency for doctoral programs. The CoA plans to continue work on this proposed policy at its October meeting and hopes to make it available for public comment this fall.
Call for Site Visitors
The CoA is actively recruiting new site visitors to serve as the “eyes and ears” of the Committee in the accreditation process. The CoA makes a special effort to ensure diversity among site visitors. Therefore, the Committee strongly encourages the nomination of women and members of underrepresented groups.
