Programs Providing Public Notice of Intent to Seek Accreditation/Eligible Status (Internship and Postdoctoral)

Updated May 7, 2014

The following list indicates receipt of applications for Eligible status and required payment of fees by the programs noted. The list reflects programs currently or recently undergoing the review for Eligible status. Programs that have withdrawn from the review for Eligible status will be removed from this list one (1) calendar year following withdrawal. Programs granted Eligible status will be listed with programs applying for initial accreditation upon receipt of self-studies and required payment for voluntary application for initial accreditation. Programs not submitting self-studies and required payment for initial accreditation within two (2) years after receiving approval of Eligible status will be removed from this list one (1) calendar year following the lapse of this period.

Internship and postdoctoral residency programs can seek eligibility status prior to seeking accreditation. The application for eligibility status includes documentation related to Domains A – D of the self-study. Review for eligibility status is a paper review only. The review is conducted to verify that the essential elements are in place to begin a program and as such does not provide the public with a judgment regarding the quality of the program. Rather, if an internship or postdoctoral residency program is approved as eligible for accreditation, it serves as a notice to the public that the program will be seeking accreditation in the near future.

“Eligible” status designates an internship or residency program that has made known its intent to seek accreditation once it has interns/residents in place; programs can be approved as “eligible” for up to 2 years.

Further information on the accreditation process is available on our frequently asked questions page. For details on providing third-party comment on any of the below programs, please refer to Section 7 of the Accreditation Operating Procedures (PDF, 145KB) or contact the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation at (202) 336-5979 or via e-mail. In order for our office to process third-party testimony in the most efficient manner, we ask that any comments be provided within 45 days after the program’s date of application.

Programs are listed alphabetically below by type (internship, postdoctoral). The “application received” date in the tables below reflects the date when a program’s submission is complete (i.e., receipt of both the Application for Eligible Status and required fees).
