Recommendations for Good Practice:
  1. Be proactive in discussions of "quality."


  2. Decentralize evaluation to the maximum possible extent.


  3. Recognize that evaluation is not for amateurs: Address the developmental needs of deans, chairs, and faculty.


  4. Focus not just on enhancing collaboration and teamwork but on "organizational motivation.
