Faculty Diversity Doctoral Scholars Program


Three regions of the Southern Regional Education Board with alliances to deal with shortages of minority faculty on campuses are looking for recent doctoral students. Members of each region include governors, legislators and higher education officials. Those students that are selected will receive*:

  • Up to 3 years of state support + 2 years of institutional support (max. of 5 years)

  • 1 year of $12,000+ for dissertation fellowship

  • Departmental support

  • Professional development for mentoring faculty

  • Counseling for students (psychological, career and advocacy)

*The selection process varies by state.

 

Requirements for eligibility are:

  • Must be a full time, first time Ph.D. (not Psy.D. or Ed.D.) student

  • Must work in region -- preference in each where support is provided
