Announcing the 2009
APA PT@CC Electronic Project Contest The APA PT@CC Electronic Project Contest aims to promote active learning through the creation of electronic presentations by psychology students at community colleges. All entries must involve a computerized presentation fitting one of the following categories: Guidelines To enter the APA PT@CC Electronic Project Contest, students must submit the following components: Please submit entries by May 31, 2009 APA PT@CC Electronic Project Competition Awards The first place winner will be awarded $500. The second place winner will be awarded $300, and the third place winner will be awarded $200. Certificates for all winners will be presented at the APA annual convention. An announcement about the 2009 contest and the winners will be posted on the APA Web site. Eligibility The competition is open to students currently enrolled at a community college or other two-year school. Students are eligible if they are community college students who have not previously completed a bachelor’s degree. Their faculty sponsors must be members of the APA Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges (PT@CC). Faculty members interested in joining PT@CC can obtain more information on the Web at www.apa.org/ed/pcue/ptatcchome.html or by contacting Martha Boenau in the APA Education Directorate at 1-800-374-2721, ext. 6140. Deadlines Entries must be postmarked by May 31, 2009. Winners will be announced by July 1, 2009. APA Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges (PT@CC) PT@CC is an acronym for the APA Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges, a group of members and affiliates of the American Psychological Association. PT@CC was established in 2001. Its elected Executive Committee represents the interests of community college psychology teachers. APA offers a number of benefits to faculty through PT@CC, such as teaching-related programming, awards, competitions for community college teachers and students, and a subscription to the quarterly newsletter, Psychology Teacher Network (PTN), for teachers of introductory psychology. |
