For Students

The National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Offers summer research programs for students from disadvantaged backgrounds committed to behavioral science careers.

The National Science Foundation (NSF)
Sponsors Summer Reseach Programs for undergraduate students in psychology. NSF also provides support for students pursuing graduate degrees in psychology. Each year they award a large number of Three-year Graduate Research Fellowships for graduate study leading to research-based Master's and Doctoral degrees. In most cases, an individual has three opportunities to apply: during the senior year of college, prior to or during the first year of graduate school and at the beginning of the second year of graduate school.

Undergraduate opportunities through Psi Chi
Psi Chi annually sponsors national undergraduate and graduate research award competitions, as well as research awards for members submitting the best research for regional and national paper/poster sessions. Members are encouraged to begin research papers early to submit for presentation at local, state, regional, or national conventions. Chapters are encouraged to provide an opportunity for members to rehearse their papers before an audience prior to presenting them at a convention.
