PT@CC Award for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at a Two-Year College or Campus

Award recipient recognized for academic and professional excellence, passion for teaching, service and leadership.

Susan Frantz, MAThe APA Committee of Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges (PT@CC) congratulates Susan Frantz, MA, of Highline Community College, recipient of the 2013 Award for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at a Two-Year College or Campus. This award, inaugurated in 2013, recognizes the important contributions to teaching and learning that psychology faculty at two-year institutions are making. The PT@CC Teaching Awards Committee selected the winner based on the instructor’s commitment to academic and professional excellence, passion for teaching, service, pedagogy and/or impact on student learning and leadership in the field.

Ms. Frantz will receive $1,000, a plaque from APA and a one-year APA Community College Teacher Affiliate membership renewal for 2014. The awards ceremony will be held at the PT@CC and Psi Beta Awards Ceremony and Reception at the 2013 APA convention. The awards ceremony and reception are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 3, from 5–7 p.m. at the Hilton Hawai’i Village Beach Resort in Lolani Suites I, II, III.

The APA Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges (PT@CC) was established in 2002 as a network to represent and support psychology teachers in two-year colleges. Psychology teachers at community colleges can join APA as Community College Teacher Affiliates by visiting the APA website. Community College Teacher Affiliates belong to APA and have the opportunity to participate in PT@CC.
