A Sample Curriculum for Advocacy Training

The purpose of the Sample Curriculum for Advocacy Training draft document is to solicit commentary and contributions on programs and faculty resources that facilitate the incorporation of advocacy training into psychology. The expectation is that these will be continually updated by input from the field.

These resources are organized into modules that reflect major components of advocacy training, and are listed as follows:
Introduction
Module 1 Defining Advocacy (both Intro and Mod. 1 are in the same PDF)
Module 2 Our Government and Law
Module 3 Policy Development, Advocacy, and Evaluation
Module 4 Written Communication
Module 5 Verbal Communication
Module 6 Understanding Privilege, Oppression, and Social Justice
Module 7 Persuasion and Personal Passion
Sample Course Activities

Your contributions are welcome. We are particularly interested in examples of psychology advocacy in science, public interest, practice and education that can be used in the classroom. Please submit ideas, exercises, resources, for each module via the on-line submission form provided.

A link marked "click here to make comments" will re-direct you to the form for input on the APA secure member's area.
