Community service project suggestions for those starting psychology clubs

Activities from the Paint Branch High School Psychology Club, Burtonsville, MD
The Paint Branch High School Psychology Club is a partner to Threshold Services and participates in Relay For Life.

Threshold Services is a non-profit organization that has group homes and provides support for persons with mental illness such as schizophrenia. Our club collects Christmas gifts and takes the gifts to their two homes each December. We also make and send residents valentines. We have, in the past, written letters to our state legislators on their behalf. We have walked in the National Homeless Walk-a-thons for Threshold Services for the past 5 years.

This June will be our club's third year for participating in Relay for Life, an overnight activity to raise money for cancer. Last year we raised more than $1000.

We also make posters for Brain Awareness Week. We sold candy to collect money for UNICEF for child victims of the Tsunami. We sell Brain Pops and pizza to earn money.
