Third party comments will be accepted about programs applying for designation. All third-party comments must state the name of the person(s) or the party(ies) represented by the comment. Issues addressed in comments must be limited to a program's consistency with the designation criteria for education and training programs in preparation for prescriptive authority (PDF, 61KB). All comments must be in writing and is limited to 10 pages. In order to process third-party comments in the most efficient manner, we ask that any comments be provided within 90 days after the program's date of application. Comments can be submitted to Catherine Grus, PhD or Deborah Baker, JD.

Status Definitions

  • Under Review
    Programs have not yet received a final decision; no further information on those programs and their stage in the designation process may be provided by us. Interested parties are encouraged to contact the program directly for further details. 

  • Designated
    Programs that have been judged by the RxP Designation Committee to be consistent substantively and procedurally with the Designation Criteria for Education and Training Programs in Preparation for Prescriptive Authority.

  • Designated on Probation 
    Programs that have been granted a time certain probationary designation by the RxP Designation Committee in which they must demonstrate stronger compliance with the designation criteria for continued designation recognition.

  • Application Voluntarily Withdrawn
    The program has voluntarily withdrawn its application from the designation process.

Designation Fees (2014)

  • Application Fee: $1,500
    Application fees are for the initial application only. A program must provide payment with submission of application for designation. 

  • Annual Fee: $250
    An annual fee is due with the invoice at the beginning of each approval year, starting in year after approval.
