Education and Assistance
The Ethics Committee and the Ethics Office provide consultation on the APA Ethics Code to members and the public. To discuss an ethics issue, please call 202-336-5930. The Ethics Office receives calls between 2 and 4 pm EST and will return messages left at other times.
The Ethics Office provides speakers for workshops and education-related programs in a wide range of venues. The Office gives priority to state, provincial, and territorial psychological associations. Topics of educational programs include:

Boundary violations
Individual differences
Teaching ethics
Special challenges related to the severely mentally ill
Practice in rural settings and small communities
Dilemmas arising in university and college counseling centers
Legal and ethical aspects of supervision
Psychologists’ involvement in death penalty proceedings
Generally, groups other psychological associations represented in the APA are requested to cover expenses and provide an honorarium to the APA Ethics Office.
