APA Reaches Out Internationally

International Activities of APA Offices, Governance and Staff

• Representation at International Meetings
  The APA president, board members and staff regularly bring APA’s presence to international conferences of psychology and related disciplines.

• APA Offices and Programs
  Many of APA’s directorates and offices coordinate programs and activities that work internationally or include an international component.

• APA Divisions
  Many of APA's 54 divisions include international sections, committees, activities and membership. APA also has a Division of International Psychology (Division 52).

• APA International Learning Partner Program
  In partnership with Professionals Abroad, APA is developing opportunities for exchange, collaboration and mutual learning through participation in international professional visits.

APA formalizes its interactions and collaborations with national psychology associations outside the U.S. through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

APA and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) signed and approved the First Street Accord, which mutually recognizes the equivalence of APA's and CPA's accreditation guidelines, standards and principles.
