Last December, APA was elected to the Executive Board of the Council of NGOs in Consultative Relations at the United Nations (CONGO). The CONGO Executive Committee represents all of the NGOs (non-governmental organizations) who have consultative status at the UN. It promotes the active role of NGOs in policy formation, program development, program monitoring and review. APA also appointed representatives to monitor UN activities in Geneva and Vienna.

The goal of APA's activities at the UN are to promote the important contribution of psychology and other behavioral and social sciences to UN concerns and activities.
