Manager, Office on AIDS Program

Description:

  • Manage the APA budget for the Office on AIDS and monitor and track expenditures associated with grants, contracts, and subcontracts administered by the Office on AIDS. Track all expenditures on all budgets associated with the Office on AIDS to ensure appropriate levels of spending and maintain detailed records of expenditures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to external funding sources. Analyze all monthly budget statements and develop budget projections for the Office on AIDS and all grants and contracts. Create budget spread sheets to track and forecast spending. Assist the Senior Director of the Office on AIDS in preparing APA budgets for the Office on AIDS and in preparing proposed budgets for initiatives funded through external sources.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Director of the Office on AIDS, and in collaboration with the directors of HIV/AIDS programs funded by external sources of funding, the person in this position manages and supervises all administrative support staff for the Office on AIDS, including all administrative staff funded by federal grants, contracts, and subcontracts administered by the Office on AIDS. The person in this position assists the Senior Director of the Office on AIDS in interviewing prospective candidates for Office on AIDS positions. The person in this position provides input to the Senior Director of the Office on AIDS about all hiring decisions. The person in this position is responsible for providing technical assistance to all administrative staff, is responsible for anticipating future staffing needs, and is responsible for implementing appropriate procedures to meet future needs.
  • Assist the Senior Director of the Office on AIDS in providing administrative support to the Ad Hoc Committee on Psychology and AIDS (COPA). Responsibilities include assisting in the development of the agenda for two annual meetings; staffing all COPA meetings; drafting the minutes of COPA meetings; implementing all COPA-initiated projects and decisions; maintaining contact with other governance groups to ensure collaboration on issues having to do with HIV/AIDS; providing administrative consultation and assistance in the development of proposed policies that impact the membership and the public; having frequent contact with each of the COPA members, especially the chair, updating them on projects and serving as their administrative liaison to all other APA offices, including APA Central Office, the Board of Directors and the Council of Representatives.
  • Supervise production of grant and contract proposals and supervise the production of training manuals for conferences.
