APA is seeking an experienced individual for a position in IT Project Management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field. Seven to ten years of IT related work experience, of which five or more years was managing IT projects will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Project Management certification preferred
  • Successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is required
  • Must have experience managing small to large size projects that range from moderately to highly complex efforts
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff using diplomacy and tact to determine project/system requirements
  • Must be able to manage projects from inception to completion by proposing solutions based on experience in the IT industry
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Description:

  • Determine projects requirements, staff assignments, timelines, priorities, reporting requirements, establish project plans, etc. by working with ITS staff, business office staff and external consultants
  • Monitor ongoing projects, identify resource needs, performs quality reviews, and assures adherence to timelines
  • Prepare communications related to project to include routine status reporting, milestone review, and any other communications related to projects to keep ITS management and the business management adequately informed
  • Development and maintenance of project management/reporting processes and methodologies to ensure that projects continue to be delivered on-time, within budget and adhere to high quality standards to meet the needs of the association
  • Prepare project related documentation and train/mentor IT staff and project leaders on project management/methodologies and processes.
  • Prepares RFP’s, evaluates responses and makes recommendations on products, services and vendors
