Director, Minority Fellowship Program

The American Psychological Association is currently seeking an individual as Director for the Minority Fellowship Program. This individual will provide a broad range of experience managing and directing the implementation and coordination of the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP).

Required Qualifications:

    The position requires a Doctorate in psychology with at least five-ten years of management experience in program or grants management evaluation with heavy budget, office management and administrative responsibilities. Experience in an academic setting; successful grant funding experience; and data analysis experience and skills. The individual must demonstrate excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to plan and meet deadlines, and excellent writing and public speaking skills. The position also requires the ability to conceptualize program development and evaluate success, to manage a small staff with efficiency and effectiveness, utilize the internet, and other electronic media for data analysis, and report generation. Develop tracking systems for maintaining a complex network of information. Must have strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of psychology, grant writing and budget management experience.

Description:

    Duties include: Oversight of five full-time staff, and development and oversight of three separate grants, budget management and strategic planning, oversee the production of reports and manuscripts; presents reports at professional meetings and consults with federal institutions on providing training for ethnic minorities. Maintain professional liaison and program development relationships with outside organizations, and oversee the extensive MFP database and the development of data analyses and reports based on them.
