Web Systems Analyst

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration, or related technical field.
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus five years experience in a similar position in lieu of degree
  • Three years of systems design and programming work experience and additional advanced study
  • Advanced understanding of state-of-the-art web technology and Web Services
  • Major web system development, implementation, and integration experience
  • Understand project management and control
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and problem solutions both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside to build strong working relationships

Description:

  • Collaborate with the business to analyze and identify computer system requirements for complex and moderately difficult business problems as they pertain to the web
  • Design appropriate web systems and structures which will provide a solid foundation for well-written, integrated, and reliable web programs. Develop computer program specifications for implementation in conjunction with business owners, management, and other programmers. Develop test plans and acceptance criteria. Perform technical design
  • Document all requirements into functional specifications to be used by subsequent web programming staff, network engineers, other ITS personnel, and consultants to produce and integrate web systems. Identify data throughput of various business processes. Analyze process components to determine value added. Design and document logical databases, program modules describing the purpose and processing rules, and module-to-module links for a given technology architecture
  • Plan independently the full range of programming actions needed to achieve desired end-results on complex problems
  • Help to develop project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth including the development of alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or equipment installations or change to existing ones. Help estimate resource needs for analyst, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment, etc.
  • Perform programming activities as required
