If your article has been accepted for publication, please follow these guidelines for transmitting the final high-resolution figure or supplemental files for production. Please do not resubmit the manuscript itself. We will use the final accepted copy of the manuscript that we have on file.
If graphics files are available as Encapsulated Postscript (EPS), TIF, or PowerPoint, please provide them, as they help maintain an all-electronic workflow and provide the best image for printing. Large graphics files should be compressed or "zipped."
For color figures, please note that CMYK file formats are preferred. RGB files will be converted to CMYK for typesetting purposes but may result in color distortion.
Please clearly label each figure by number using the following format:
xxx_author_### _fig1.ext, where
- xxx is the journal prefix,
- author is the surname of the corresponding author of the paper,
- ### corresponds to the suffix of the manuscript number assigned to your paper, and
- ext represents the application in which the file was created (e.g., eps, tif, ppt).
Example: bne_jones_107_fig1.eps [to indicate Figure 1 provided in Encapsulated Postscript (eps) format, for Behavioral Neuroscience MS 05-107 by Jones et al.]
Minimum file resolution (dots per inch) for printing:
line art (graphs, drawings) = 1,200 dpi
halftones (photos) = 300 dpi
combo line/halftone = 600 dpi
See Cadmus KnowledgeWorks Digital Art Web Site for further information about preparing figures.
If the journal posts supplemental files online then please name them in the following format before submitting:
xxx_author_### _supp.ext, where
- xxx is the journal prefix,
- author is the surname of the corresponding author of the paper,
- ### corresponds to the suffix of the manuscript number assigned to your paper, and
- ext represents the application in which the file was created (e.g., doc, xls, jpg).*
Example: neu_smith_105_supp.xls [to indicate a supplemental file, created in Excel, for Neuropsychology MS 05-105 by Smith et al.]
* Supplemental files in all formats except .exe are acceptable.
