Supplementing Your Article With Online Material

APA can now place supplementary materials online, linked to the published article in the PsycARTICLES database. Examples of such material:

  • audio or video clips
  • oversized tables
  • lengthy appendixes
  • detailed intervention protocols
  • supplementary data sets

If you are interested in including such material with your article, please state your intentions in the cover letter that accompanies your submission to the Editor, and include the material with your submission. All material submitted for publication is subject to peer review.

Provided the supplementary material is accepted for online publication, the final published version of the article will include a URL noting where the supplementary materials can be found online. It is not necessary to refer to the supplementary material in the text of your manuscript, but you may do so if you wish. Once accepted, the supplemental material is considered part of the journal's archival record and cannot be altered or removed.
