Supplementing your article with online material
APA can place supplemental materials online, linked to the published article in the APA PsycArticles® database.
Examples of such material include
- audio or video clips
- oversized tables
- lengthy appendixes
- detailed intervention protocols
- supplementary data sets
- code for computer simulations of models
- code for data-analysis software
If you are interested in including such material with your article, please state your intentions in the cover letter that accompanies your submission to the editor and include the material with your submission.
All supplemental material submitted is sent to the reviewers for the peer-review process. If submitting to a masked journal, the supplemental materials should be masked accordingly.
Provided the supplemental material is accepted for online publication, the final published version of the article will include a URL noting where the supplemental material can be found online.
Please make sure to refer to the supplemental material in the text of your manuscript.
Once accepted, all supplemental material is considered part of the journal's archival record and cannot be altered or removed.
