Updated as often as daily, it includes all material from the print journals with the exception of nonarticle content such as ads, covers, and editorial board lists. The file contains nearly 140,000 articles that date back to 1894.
Users can search by key words or take advantage of PsycINFO's extensive and detailed thesaurus for subject searching. In addition, the database is searchable by author, journal title, population type, age group, tests and measures used, and several other categories. Users can also browse by individual journal issues.

This companion to the scholarly PsycINFO database contains material that is distributed outside the peer-review literature by research institutes; psychology labs; associations; councils; federal, state, and local agencies; foundations; societies; and other professional groups.
Updated bi-weekly, the database includes conference proceedings, technical reports, position papers, datasets, newsletters, consumer brochures, and a host of other materials.

In addition, it includes several hundred reviews published in an electronic supplement in 2004. The all-electronic database officially launched in January 2005.
