Psychology teachers at community colleges are invited to join APA as Community College Teacher Affiliates.
As a Community College Teacher Affiliate, you will join your colleagues participating in Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges (PT@CC).
PT@CC is a group of members and affiliates of the American Psychological Association established in 2001. Its elected Executive Committee represents the interests of community college psychology teachers.
PT@CC's priorities include:
- serving the professional needs of psychology teachers at community colleges
- providing a voice for community college teachers in the governance of APA
- supporting sessions related to the teaching of psychology at national and regional conventions
- conducting surveys that identify the status of psychology in community colleges and needs of community college teachers
- encouraging learning of psychology through an annual "electronic poster" contest and certificates to recognize outstanding community college students of psychology
- developing partnership projects with Psi Beta (the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges) and STP (The Society for the Teaching of Psychology) for the encouragement of excellence in teaching and learning of psychology
- encouraging research in the teaching and learning of psychology at community colleges

Important Information for Applicants
To join APA, simply provide the information requested on the application form and return or fax the form to APA. To indicate which journals you wish to receive, complete the order form for journals. Once you have been accepted as a Community College Teacher Affiliate, you may order back issues of previous years of any of the APA journals at member rates. Identify yourself as a Community College Teacher Affiliate, include your affiliate identification number, if known, and send your request to "APA Order Department" at the APA address.
Applications may be submitted at any time. If your application is approved between January 1 and August 31, your affiliation will be predated to January 1 of the same year and your journal subscriptions will be back-ordered to the first of the year. Your subscription to Monitor on Psychology will begin on the date of acceptance and continue through the year, with no back issues sent.
Community College Teacher Affiliates who join APA between September 1 and December 31 will enjoy affiliation through the next calendar year. Your subscription to Monitor on Psychology will begin with the next available issue, with no back issues. All journal subscriptions are for one calendar year only.
Affiliation status is effective January 1 through December 31. You will receive an invoice each year when it is time to renew your subscriptions and your affiliation.
