2010 Membership Dues
APA membership provides you with valuable resources and benefits that enhance your career and connects you to the world’s largest network of psychologists.
APA membership is based on the calendar year (January – December). If your application is approved in September through December of the current year, your membership and subscriptions to the Monitor on Psychology and the American Psychologist will begin with the next available issues and continue through the next calendar year.
2010 Member Dues - (member requirements)
$80 - New first-year member only
$287 - Basic member rate
In support of new doctorate candidates and early career psychologists, APA offers individuals new to APA membership a generous first year discount and an eight-step graduated dues structure that gradually increases the rate marginally over an eight year period. Members receive a $55 journal credit.
2010 Member Practice Assessment - (information about assessment)
$25 - 1 – 12 months licensed
$75 - 13 – 24 months licensed
$137 - 25+ months licensed
If an APA member is a licensed psychologist and is engaged in the provision or supervision of health or mental health-related services an additional fee applies as specified above. This fee supports APA’s companion organization, the APA Practice Organization which is exclusively devoted to advancing the goals of the practitioner community.

Associates receive a $55 journal credit.

$40 - High school teacher
$40 - Community college teacher
APA welcomes psychology students, beginning in high school and continuing through their undergraduate and graduate training; psychologists living outside of the United States; and teachers at the high school and two-year college levels. Student Affiliates receive a $10 journal credit. Undergraduate and high school student affiliates may also join APAGS for an additional $24.

APA and CPA Dual Membership
If you are an APA member living in Canada and you belong to CPA, you are eligible for a 50% reduction of your APA dues (and the practice assessment where applicable). If you are an APA member living in the United States and you belong to the CPA, you are also eligible for a 50% reduction on your CPA dues (contact CPA for details).
If you qualify, simply notify us in writing (include your CPA membership number) and your membership records will be updated to automatically reduce your APA dues (and practice assessment where applicable) by 50% on your future dues statements.
Discount Membership Program
If you belong to APA and the Association for Psychological Science (APS) or one of the organizations of the Federation of Behavioral, Psychological and Cognitive Sciences, you could save 25% on APA basic dues.
