    The Member category is intended for those who have a doctoral degree in psychology or a related field from a regionally accredited graduate or professional school or a school that achieved such accreditation within 5 years of the doctoral degree (or a school of similar standing outside of the United States).
  • Associate
    The Associate category is intended for those who have a master's degree or have completed 2 years of graduate study in psychology or a related field at a regionally accredited institution. Degrees from foreign institutions must show U.S. equivalency.
  • Student Affiliate
    The Student Affiliate category is intended for graduate or undergraduate students taking courses in psychology.
  • High School Student Affiliate
    The High School Student Affiliate category is intended for those enrolled as a high school student and interested in a career in psychology or want to see what it's all about.
  • High School Teacher Affiliate
    Teachers of high school psychology are invited to join APA as High School Teacher Affiliates.
  • Community College Teacher Affiliate
    Psychology teachers at community colleges are invited to join APA as Community College Teacher Affiliates.
  • International Affiliate
    Psychologists who live outside the United States and Canada are invited to become International Affiliates of the American Psychological Association.
