Candidates for APA President
APA members have nominated five psychologists to run for APA's presidency. The successful candidate will serve as 2009 president-elect, 2010 president and 2011 past president.
The presidential candidates and the number of nominating votes they received are:
Carol D. Goodheart, EdD 134 votes
Jack Kitaeff, PhD, JD 1,128 votes
Robert E. McGrath, PhD 1,340 votes
Steven J. Reisner, PhD 1,765 votes
Ronald H. Rozensky, PhD 1,057 votes
APA mailed the presidential nomination ballots to all APA voting members on Feb. 13. The nominations closed on March 31. The ballots were tabulated by Intelliscan Inc. and certified by APA's Election Committee. All APA members are eligible to be nominated for president-elect and invited to submit a statement.
For this issue of the Monitor, the candidates have submitted biographies and candidate statements, which appear on the following pages. Additional information about the candidates will appear in the July/August, September and October issues of the Monitor, in which they will answer questions on issues of concern to APA members. Election ballots will be mailed on Oct. 15 and will include instructions for voting online. Members will have the option to vote online or by mail. The election will close on Dec. 1.
