The fund supports the development of psychological science and psychological scientists in poor, transitional and developing countries.

"I was impressed and inspired when reading the Monitor's announcement of Bruce Overmier's leadership and generosity in establishing an APF fund to assist the International Union of Psychological Science in supporting the professional development of our colleagues in developing countries," says David Myers. "Supporting Bruce's vision seemed a fitting way by which my wife, Carol, and I might give something back to our discipline, with a focus on those in lower income, underserved regions. This is also a gesture of thanks for the support I have received from teaching colleagues worldwide."
