American Psychological Foundation Spotlight on Raymond D. and Sandy Fowler APF Visionary Partners Raymond D. Fowler, PhD, and his wife Sandy have donated more than $50,000 to the foundation over the last few years, and have left an APF bequest in their wills. "The foundation was a major part of our personal and professional lives for many years," says Raymond Fowler, who served as APA's chief executive officer from 1989 to 2003. "We made a bequest because we believe that APF plays a major role in stimulating important research and supporting students and early career psychologists." Raymond Fowler received the 2008 APF Gold Medal for Life Achievement in Psychology in the Public Interest in recognition of his long and distinguished career working in civil rights, among many other areas. Sandy Fowler, an intercultural specialist, served as an independent consultant conducting intercultural coaching for a variety of business and government clients before heading the Navy's intercultural training program in Washington, D.C., for eight years. |
