Division spotlight Div. 14 hosts fifth consortium This year's Div. 14 (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology) Leading Edge Consortium is set for Oct. 16–17 in Denver, with the topic of "Leading-Edge of Selection and Assessment in Global Setting." Society for Vocational Psychology conference explores personal values "The Role of Values in Careers" is the topic of the ninth biennial conference of the Society of Vocational Psychology, a section of Div. 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology). The conference, to be held June 29–30 in St. Louis, will address such issues as the influences of cultural heritage, gender, socioeconomic status and family on people's career paths. Div. 40 creates early career committee Div. 40 (Clinical Neuropsychology) has formed a committee to address the needs of its early career members, those in the first seven years of their careers. The committee will survey members to learn more about the issues they face and will provide networking opportunities where early career psychologists can discuss training, practice and research issues. The committee seeks a diverse array of representatives. Div. 44 call for awards and nominations Div. 44 (Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Issues) seeks nominations for the following awards: Clarity Award, Distinguished Book Award, Distinguished Contribution to Education and Training, Distinguished Contribution to Ethnic Minority Issues, Distinguished Professional Contribution, Distinguished Scientific Contribution, Distinguished Service, Distinguished Student Contribution and the Evelyn Hooker Award for Distinguished Contributions by an Ally. Div. 45 sponsors new national psychology honor society Psi Alpha Omega is a new national psychology honor society sponsored by Div. 45 (Society for the Psychological Study of Ethnic Minority Issues). Psi Alpha Omega recognizes students of color who demonstrate academic excellence. The society is open to all students and faculty from high school through graduate study. Attend the Div. 52 mid-winter conference Div. 52 (International) will hold its annual mid-winter conference in conjunction with the Western Psychological Association annual meeting, to be held April 23–26 in Portland, Ore.
