APA's Annual Convention goes green APA plans to turn the Annual Convention green: • In conjunction with Pearson—a leader in psychological and educational assessment, providing instruments for clinicians and educators—APA will use Bullfrog Power to match electricity the convention uses in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre with 100 percent carbon-free electricity. This clean, renewable power will then be injected back into the Ontario grid on behalf of APA. • All APA shuttle buses in Toronto will use lower-emission engines and run on ultra-low sulfur fuel. • The APA Insurance Trust will provide registrant bags made from natural cotton, rather than synthetic fibers. • The Metro Toronto Convention Centre recycles 77 percent of all its waste and uses water from Lake Ontario to cool the South Building, which also features a seven-acre green roof.
As of August, APA's Office of Ethnic Minority Affairs' biannual news journal the Communiqué will only be available online. Please access the online August edition at: www.apa.org/pi/oema/communique.html. If you would like to be contacted when it becomes available, send your name and e-mail to: Ethnic Minority Affairs
