The program will address existing technology, barriers to adopting HIT and how to overcome them, and the benefits and ethical considerations of the medium. (CE available.) • "Critical Issues in Diagnosis of Psychopathology: ICD and DSM Revisions," Aug. 7. María Elena Medina-Mora, PhD, and featured international experts will outline critical issues pertaining to the diagnosis of psychopathology for revisions of both the ICD and the DSM. (CE available.) • "Child Custody, Child Protection, and Parenting Coordination—Practice Guidelines for the Forensic Practitioner," Aug. 8. A "must" for practitioners engaged in family law proceedings, or those who provide psychological services where conflict in custody implementation might be an issue. (CE available.) • "Roles, Opportunities and Obstacles for Psychologists—Developing and Implementing Evidence-Based Practices for People with Serious Mental Illness or Serious Emotional Disturbance," Aug. 8. Treatments for serious mental illness and serious emotional disturbance have increasingly become grounded in the concepts of recovery (for the former) and resilience (for the latter). New interventions have focused on effective role functioning and client-focus domains such as treatment, work and living environment. This session will focus on emerging roles for psychologists in these interventions. (CE available.) • "Plug In, Turn On, Reach Out—Retooling Your Practice for the 21st Century," Aug. 8. This session will focus on market trends and emerging needs, creative thinking about practice opportunities and business strategies that benefit both clients and practitioners.
