VOLUME 29 , NUMBER 4 -April 1998 Science convention programming highlightsAPA?s Annual Convention in San Francisco, Aug. 14?18, will include some exciting science programming. Most of the science-related sessions will occur as part of APA?s condensed Focus on Science programming on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the meeting. Highlights will include: ? A special series called 'Brain and Behavior,' co-sponsored by Divs. 3 (Experimental) and 8 (Society for Personality and Social Psychology) and funded in part by the National Science Foundation. ? A special program series on alcohol research, co-sponsored by Divs. 28 (Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse) and 50 (Addictions) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. ? A two-day workshop for new academics on how to keep an academic job, entitled 'The academic career: a beginner?s manual.' (Those interested will need to register separately for this program.)
