The latest edition of APA?s electronic journal, previously known as Treatment, is now available on the web site. (The American Psychiatric Association originally partnered with APA to produce the journal, but backed out last fall.) The newest edition includes a report on a meta-analysis of antidepressant medication, which indicates a strong presence of the placebo effect.

Needs Assessment Survey Results

The Education Directorate has posted the latest results from its Needs Assessment Questionnaire, which was developed to assess how the directorate might better serve its constituents. The survey was distributed to members last year and yielded 442 responses. The site lists the questions on the survey and graphs that depict the results.

It includes a search engine and information on social psychology doctoral programs, journals, online surveys and textbooks. Maintained by Scott Plous at Wesleyan University, the site also contains links to information on psychology organizations, clinical psychology programs and sources for research funding.

The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society web site

The site includes the latest news on human factors research, information on membership, publications, upcoming meetings, and the society?s job placement service for human-factors professionals.

Center for the Advancement of Health (www.cfah.org/who.htm)

This Washington, D.C.?based organization, dedicated to promoting the incorporation of behavioral approaches into health care, details its mission and activities online. The center develops and promotes use of a variety of strategies for providers, including performance indicators that allow consumers and purchasers to judge how well health plans deliver care that incorporates behavioral strategies. The group?s web site includes summaries of the latest behavioral research findings, and a list of upcoming conferences of interest to health and behavioral professionals.
