Nominate your colleague for Div. 7 awards
Div. 7 (Developmental) seeks nominations for its 2002-03 awards, to be announced at APA's 2003 Annual Convention in Toronto. The deadline for all nominations is Feb. 1. Nomination materials for the G. Stanley Hall Prize for Distinguished Contributions to Developmental Psychology and the Urie Bronfenbrenner Prize for Lifetime Contributions to Developmental Psychology in the Service of Science and Society should be sent to Ann Masten, PhD, Institute of Child Development, University of Minnesota, 51 E. Nominations of books for the Eleanor Maccoby Book Award in Developmental Psychology should be sent to Paul Bloom, PhD, Yale University, P.O. Box 208205, New Haven, CT 06520-8205. Divisions host symposium on complex work performance
Divs. 19 (Military) and 21 (Applied Experimental and Engineering) are inviting submissions for papers, presentations and panel sessions for "Measuring and maintaining performance in complex environments," the divisions' joint annual midyear symposium to be held March 6-7 in Fort Belvoir, Va. The symposium will highlight research on advances in the measurement of operator performance and human error as they pertain to human performance on the battlefield, military and civilian aviation, air traffic control and other complex work environments.
Students are encouraged to participate in paper or poster sessions and will be eligible for an award given by Div. 19 for the best student presentation.

Div. 22 and ABRP announce April conference
Div. 22 (Rehabilitation) and the American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology (ABRP) will hold their fifth annual midyear conference "Rehabilitation psychology 2003" in Tucson, Ariz., April 4-6. The meeting addresses the practice and study of rehabilitation psychology and will feature workshops on board certification in rehabilitation psychology, ABRP mentoring sessions, CE-approved presentations on the newest in practice, policy and ethics, a scientific poster session, and more.
New this year are honorary lectureships, presentations on the Meyerson Disability Research Project, Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities guidelines affecting psychology practice, and breakfast roundtable sessions offering informal student mentoring and topical discussions.

Div. 26 (History) provides a rich variety of resources for students, teachers and researchers on psychology's history on its Web site at www.psych.yorku.ca/orgs/apa26. Click on "History of Psychology Resources" to connect to Web sites dedicated to historical figures such as William James and Carl Jung, as well as links to psychology archives, historical collections, online psychology history books and journals, professional societies and an online book shop.
The Web site also offers the August 2002 issue of the division's journal, History of Psychology, which features a symposium on professional training and the teaching of the history of psychology. The special issue includes articles by:
* Psychology Archives Director David Baker, PhD, on "Historical understanding and teaching in professional psychology."
* Hendrika Vande Kemp, PhD, on "Making the history of psychology clinically and philosophically relevant."

Attend Div. 39's spring meeting
Div. 39 (Psychoanalysis) will hold its annual spring meeting titled "Hope: contemporary psychoanalysis' passion for the possible" April 2-6 in Minneapolis. The meeting, open to all APA members, will feature sessions related to practice, research and applications for social change and keynote speaker Steven Cooper, PhD, author of "Objects of Hope: Exploring Possibility and Limit in Psychoanalysis."
Invited panels will feature topics such as "Hope and idealization," "Is there hope for sex?" and "Trauma and neuroscience: bringing the body more deeply into psychoanalysis." The division will host a special performance of the play "Six Degrees of Separation" at the Guthrie Theatre, followed by a panel and discussion among analysts, theater staff and audience.

Try your hand at journal editing
Div. 50 (Addictions) seeks nominations for editor of its journal Psychology of Addictive Behaviors. Candidates should be APA Members and available to start receiving manuscripts in early 2004 to prepare for issues published in 2005. The typical editor's term is five years. Div. 50 encourages members of underrepresented groups in the publication process to apply. Self-nominations are also encouraged.
The nomination deadline is March 1. The first review of nominations will begin Feb. 15. To nominate a candidate, prepare a statement of support of no more than one page. Div. 54 congratulates student winners
Div. 54 (Society of Pediatric Psychology) honored nine students' research at APA's 2002 Annual Convention. Student Travel Award winners received $250 to use toward travel to convention to present their posters, and Poster Award winners received a blue ribbon and $50 prize.
The Student Travel Award winners are:
* Ahna Hoff of Oklahoma State University, for her poster "An intervention for parents of children newly diagnosed with diabetes."
* Anna Maria Patino of the University of Miami, for her poster "Diabetes knowledge and health beliefs of minority youth with type I diabetes."
* Christine Jeuland Ware of DePaul University, for her poster "Motivations of foster parents of children with medically complex conditions."
* Cara Reeves of the University of Mississippi, for her poster "Verbal memory among pediatric patients with medulloblastoma."
* Janelle Wagner of Oklahoma State University, for her poster "Moderating effect of intrusiveness on parental distress and child depression."
The Student Poster Award winners are:

New information clearinghouse for Div. 55
Div. 55 (American Society for the Advancement of Pharmacotherapy) has a new central office to assist its members and psychologists who are interested in joining the division.
