APA will sponsor two hands-on seminars for undergraduate students in 2004.
The Summer Science Institute is a nine-day training session to be held at Vanderbilt University, June 19-27. The institute will include hands-on experience in psychology research, as well as discussions on careers in psychology. The institute is open to college freshman and sophomores. Students may apply online at Summer Science Fellowship.
The Statistical Training in Psychology Seminar is a nine-day, advanced seminar in statistics and research methods for college seniors who plan to pursue an advanced degree in psychological science. The institute--to be held at the University of Maryland, College Park, July 10-18--will target students from traditionally underrepresented groups in psychology, such as members of ethnic-minority groups and first-generation college students.
