DIVISION SPOTLIGHT

DIVISION NEWS

Div. 39 (Psychoanalysis)

Div. 39 members Harriette Kaley, PhD, Morris N. Eagle, PhD, and David L. Wolitzky, PhD, have edited a new book "Psychoanalytic Therapy as Health Care: Effectiveness and Economics in the 21st Century" (Analytic Press, 1999), which examines the future of psychoanalysis in an age of managed care.

The contributors consider the ethical and legal dilemmas of confidentiality, privacy and reporting to third parties and explore the future opportunities and pitfalls of psychoanalytic therapies in the developing health-care delivery systems. Psychoanalysis, they note, can help a variety of people, such as AIDS patients, inner-city clinic patients and seriously disturbed young adults.

A single copy costs $49.95. For more information, contact: TAP Books, 10 Industrial Ave., Mahwah, NJ 07430, (800) 926-6579, fax: (201) 760-3735, e-mail: TAPBooks@analyticpress.com.
